Sindh, undoubtedly, is a beautiful to play and enjoy with in terms of historic and natural places. Hence, Sindh earns status as a Godly gifted province beauty bows before. Therefore, it is a place beauty-lovers dream of. What I have observed that the current globalization and intellectual revolutions have changed the mindsets of the people. The days are gone when people used to follow the traditional activities, now everyone intends to lead and explore unique activities and practices which can render lasting benefits.
Same is the case with tourism industry, previously it was considered as the “Just Visit” but now the adventurism and entrepreneurialism have changed even the souls of the people and so has changed the definition of “tourism”. It could be witnessed through this quote, “In the middle ages people were tourists because of their religion, whereas now they are tourists because tourism is their religion. (Robert Runcie)”
When one looks at the above mentioned quote, will come to know that tourism has become the passion of people means they entitle it as their purpose of existence. Tourists enjoy life at its fullest while mounting and climbing and lessen their level of frustration by seeking peace in such Godly gifted places where nature prevails.
Sindh is no stranger to beautiful and historic places such as Makli Hills, Sadhu Belo, Gorakh Hill Station, Thar Desert, Satyan-Jo-Astaan, Faiz Mahal, Nangar Parker, Keenjhar Dhand, Moen-jo-daro, Masjid-e-Tooba, Indus River, mystic places of sufi saints Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, Sachal Sarmast, Qalandar Lal Shahbaz, Bedal Bekkas, Saami, Rohal Faqir, Janan Chann and much more. Besides, the metropolitan city Karachi is an extraordinary place to hang over with friends which includes the rest place of the founder of Pakistan Quid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jannah.
Moreover, Indus River is known as the founding place of Vedas. These are known as pioneering books of Sanatan Dharma-Hinduism. It is said that the Vedas were written on the banks of Indus River. Therefore, this holly place is considered as the sacred place among all Hindus of the world, specially the Hindus of India. Thus it is also heard that the Hindus of India specially pay visit to this river to dispose of the ashes of their beloved ones to pay the departed ones special tribute. It is among the largest rivers in world and stands at 17th number. In addition to this, this river has also status due to the religious fact derived from Islamic view point that it is the one of the fourth rivers that flows from Paradise which is named as “Sehoon” the name used for Indus River.
As for as concerned with Sindh’s tourism industry, it is miserable that Sindh, day by day, is losing its status in international community as a safe place for tourists because of terrorism. On the other hand, as individuals we all should participate and extend our fullest energy in bringing the safer Sindh again on the map of the world, so that the religion of the tourists may be safeguarded.
